AI tool updates

Every two weeks we walk through the AI tools your team has access to — what's new, what changed, and how to get the most from them. We often invite people to show-and-tell how they actually use them.

This month: ten changes across our AI tools

Loading thumbnail…

This month we ran through ten changes across the tools we already use — from Ask Gemini landing inside Google Chat and loops arriving in Workspace Flows, to NotebookLM's new export options and AI-sorted sources, Perplexity's Comet browser on mobile, ChatGPT's multi-step agents and Claude's live artifacts. The thread tying them together: these tools are shifting from answering one-off questions to carrying whole pieces of work end to end. The standout three are below — full slides and source links follow.

▍ This month's highlights

Workspace Flows now loops

A new "Repeat for each" step runs a flow across every item in a list or row in a Sheet, turning one-off automations into unattended batch work.

NotebookLM, end to end

Now builds its own source library from a prompt, auto-sorts sources with AI, and exports finished decks, spreadsheets and docs — not just notes.

Ask Gemini, inside Google Chat

Summarise unread threads, find files in Drive and book a meeting across calendars without leaving the conversation.

Loops in Workspace Studio Flows

Loops let a Studio flow run the same set of steps across a whole list — every row, file, or result — so you build an action once and Studio works through the batch unattended. That's where the real time-savings show up. I'll walk through setting one up, then leave you with three patterns you can reuse:

▍ Three reusable patterns
  • Automated research — loop over a list of topics, companies, or competitors and run the same research-and-summarise step on each, collecting it all in one place.
  • Automated to-do updates — loop through tasks or incoming items and update, tag, or re-prioritise each against the same rule, so the list keeps itself current.
  • Variant building — loop over a base asset (a headline, ad, or email) to generate multiple on-brand variations in a single run, ready to pick from.
